Rebento, film paraibano, wins international film award
O cinema e a cultura de João Pessoa estão em clima de comemoração. O motivo foi o longa-metragem ‘Rebento’, obra patrocinada pelo edital Walfredo Rodriguez da Prefeitura Municipal de João Pessoa (PMJP), ter recebido o prêmio Golden Sparrow de melhor filme e melhor atriz no Diorama International Film Festival, em Nova Delhi, na Índia.
The cinema and culture of João Pessoa are in a celebratory mood. The reason was the film 'Rebento', a work sponsored by the Walfredo Rodriguez Publication of the Municipality of João Pessoa (PMJP), to have received the Golden Sparrow award for best film and best actress at the Diorama International Film Festival in New Delhi, India.
“Ainda estamos emocionados e felizes com essa grande conquista para o cinema paraibano. Foi fundamental a parceria de financiamento da Prefeitura Municipal de João Pessoa com os realizadores do filme. O Rebento foi primeiro filme de ficção patrocinado pelo edital Walfredo Rodriguez. Com isso, mostramos o quanto é importante fomentar a cultura na Capital”, destacou o escritor e diretor de Rebento, André Morais.

Além da premiação de melhor filme, o longa paraibano também levou a de melhor atriz , com Ingrid Trigueiro. “O reconhecimento do nosso trabalho está nos dando a alegria de receber este prêmio no Diorama International Film Festival. Parabéns ao querido André Morais, elenco e toda equipe do filme Rebento. Viva o cinema paraibano”, comemorou Ingrid.

O Rebento concorreu com outros 15 filmes de vários lugares do mundo como Irã, Turquia, Alemanha, México, Argélia, China e Espanha. É uma produção totalmente paraibana, com mais de 40 artistas envolvidos não só de João Pessoa, mas do estado. O longa foi rodado no sertão da Paraíba, nas cidades de Aparecida, Sousa, Santa Cruz e São Domingos, estimulando a geração de emprego e renda não só na capital paraibana, mas também nas cidades onde foi filmado.
Rebento competed with 15 other films from around the world including Iran, Turkey, Germany, Mexico, Algeria, China and Spain. It is a totally Paraíbaian production, with more than 40 artists involved not only in João Pessoa, but in the state. The film was shot in the Paraíba hinterland in the cities of Aparecida, Sousa, Santa Cruz and São Domingos, stimulating the generation of jobs and income not only in the capital of Paraíba, but also in the cities where it was filmed.
André Morais ainda ressalta a importância de se manter a continuidade nos patrocínios e financiamentos para a cultura local. “Rebento está abrindo portas para outros que virão. Lembrando que não apenas nosso filme, mas várias outras produções financiadas pelo edital Walfredo Rodriguez estão circulando dentro e fora do país. As parcerias também são fruto de uma mobilização de nós artistas que lutamos para que ações como essa da prefeitura tenham continuidade. Pedimos que os futuros patrocínios e financiamentos continuem com essa força e organização. É necessário que a gestão possa continuar com esse olhar ressaltando a importância do poder público no fomento da cultura de nossa cidade e o resultado está aí”, finalizou.
